A book box, made from an 18th century religious book. 42pp. of text, the remainder of the volume converted into a wood lined box.
A good example, the binding quite worn. Seven hexagram stars to the front free endpaper.
An eighteenth-century ‘blook’, a printed religous work with the majority hollowed out and lined with wood to make it into a box. Unlike later mass produced ready-made ‘blooks’, this was seemingly made by the owner themselves.
