Octavo. Publisher’s hessian cloth, lettered blue with a red vignette of a bowing Hobbit to the upper cover. Two small fragments of the original dustwrapper loosely laid in.
 
An ex-library copy, with the stamps, tickets and shelfmarks of the Osceola Public Library. Recased, with thick tape repairs to joints. A little rubbed externally, some browning and paper flaws internally, a shallow chip to the fore-edge of p.119.
