The Hobbit (Folio Society)
First Folio Society edition. Octavo. Quarter bound in faux leather over hessian cloth, lettered and decorated gilt. Top edge brown. Housed in the original slipcase. A near fine copy in a very good slipcase. 
 
There are two variants of the first Folio Society edition of The Hobbit.
 
One has “George Allen And Unwin Ltd” to the title page, and has the page edges speckled blue, as in the Allen and Unwin deluxe edition of 1976.
 
But the present variant states that it was produced by George Allen And Unwin “for The Folio Society” to the title page.
